- and much more….
All managed SCOM devices are added automatically into your new APOLLO – CMDB,
but you’re also able to add un-manged devices to make your inventory complete.
“SCOM – APOLLO Management Pack” works in both directions, most your defined attributes are automatically available in SCOM to enable your automation. Building dynamic groups based on location or ownership, detailed space reports of your Datacenter(s) or single Device-Dashboards will bring your SCOM environment into the next level.
Managers, IT-Administrators and Project Managers don’t need to be SCOM trained anymore, a single and easy Web-based application allows you to share the IT-Landscape with others. Based on the role-based security model, read-only or write permissions can be granted.

Use Cases – SCOM CMDB
Quick/Easy to find physical location of failed devices
Each physical device that is configured in APOLLO has additional properties like location, room and rack position so it’s very easy to locate a specific device. This will save you time in case your Hardware is broken and needs to be replaced very quickly.
Different thresholds and monitoring rules are no longer a challenge
Most of the teams having a different requirement on their Alerting and would like to be informed at a different threshold.
Per example: if the CPU utilization is higher than 80%, the CMS team needs to be informed, but the Exchange team would like to be informed if the CPU utilization is higher than 90%.
APOLLO gives you the opportunity to set different thresholds, based on your dynamic groups.
Sharing responsibility without risk
With APOLLO you can share the responsibility to manage SCOM devices without granting admin rights. Each Application owner can now manage his own environment. They don’t need to get in touch with the SCOM administrator to get single items changed and to wait for until it has been executed by the SCOM team.
Per example: a newly configured Server needs to get the same rules applied like all others from the Exchange team, with the SLA level: “Class A”. In addition the new device have to visible in the SCOM console for the Exchange group only.
Do you know each SCOM user and the role memberships?
To check the role memberships of a user, a manual activity is required to open every single role in the SCOM console. In APOLLO you can search for a user and you will see directly to which role(s) a user has a membership, including advanced permissions at one view.
Get your infrastructure under control and share it
Without having a training course visited, administrators and non IT colleagues are now able to see the most important information’s of a Device. Be transparent to the whole IT and grant managers an easy to use interface, to get more understanding of the whole infrastructure and their datacenters.
APOLLO is cloud ready, which enables you to manage also non Rack mounted devices.
Reporting your Infrastructure
Reporting across different Datacenters is always challenge. APOLLO provides you some predefined reports and the option to export the cmdb information to create reports by your own.
Datacenter at a glance
SCOM managed hardware as well non managed devices from 3party vendors where you don’t have access are shown in a graphical rack view including their usage. Detailed space reports informs you about the utilization of your datacenter/room, including available slots of the blade enclosures.
All Devices will be be automatically uploaded from SCOM into APOLLO and can be placed inside a Rack by using Drag&Drop.
Enhance your “alerts” & reduce the “Mean Time To Repair”
SCOM provides Alerts with technical parameters only, for issue solving you need to logon to the SCOM console first and other non-connected databases & files needs to be opened and inquired.
APOLLO extend the current Alert parameters by having now 23 more fields available.
The additional APOLLO Alert parameters can be used on following SCOM notifications: Mail, SMS or custom command channel
